My name is Chengcheng, and I am currently a research scientist at Meta. I received my PhD from KAUST Visual Computing Center under the supervision of Prof. Helmut Pottmann, and subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University with Prof. Leo Guibas before joining Facebook/Meta.
My research expertise spans two main areas: human understanding and embodied AI, including pose estimation, motion analysis, interaction tracking, contact inference, and LLM/VLM-based applications such as sports coaching; and geometry processing, where I have studied constrained design, shape understanding, recovery, and 2D/3D content generation with GenAI. As a tech lead, I drove the development of inside-out body tracking, now shipped on Quest 3/3S to millions of users worldwide (blog, post, reddit, uploadvr).
I received the Best Paper Award at the Symposium on Geometry Processing. My recent service includes SGP committee member (6+ years), WACV 2026 Area Chair, SIGGRAPH Asia 2025 COI Coordinator, and CVPR 2025 outstanding reviewer.
